JOURNEY 1

Flight from São Paulo to Santa Cruz (plane ticket not included).

Arrival at Viru Viru International Airport and transfer (only Spanish-speaking driver) to the Camino Real Hotel (Standard room).


JOURNEY 2

Breakfast. In the morning, private transfer to the airport to catch your flight to La Paz (airline tickets not included). Arrival and transfer to the hotel. 7-hour tour of this wonderful city located in a valley at the foot of the Cordillera Real de los Andes at 3632 masl, visit to the Gold, Murillo and Costumbrista Museums, as well as the Killi Killi Viewpoint with a beautiful view of the city, including: the market area, where you can see the agricultural produce of the highlands such as: quinoa, tunta, chuño (dehydrated potato) and oca (sweet tuber), as well as fruits and vegetables from the Amazonian Yungas; there will also be a tour of the Witches' Market, where the local community buys products for ceremonies and rituals such as Ch'alla and offerings to Pachamama (mother earth). A cable car ride is a great opportunity to discover an excellent and wonderful view of La Paz. This tour is almost a must for all tourists! The tour continues through the modern part of the city and ends in the Vale da Lua, impressive for its capricious formations caused by erosion.

Journey 3

Pleasant journey in private transport from La Paz with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca to Copacabana (3½ hours), a beautiful town on the shores of the lake. Visit its church and famous “Virgem Morena”.

Boat trip across the lake to the Island of the Sun (1 hour) to Huacani to have an Apthapi (Lunch) the trip continues by boat to the ruins of the Inca Temple of Pilkokaina. Walk to the Ecolodge La Estancia with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca (1 hour approx).

DAY 4

DON'T MISS A BEAUTIFUL DAWN!

Walk along the Inca Yumani steps and visit the Fountain of Eternal Youth, then travel by boat north to visit the Chincana Ruins and Sacred Rock (1 hour), continue by boat to Moon Island (1 hour), visit the ruins of the Inca temple of Iñak Uyu, finally Copacabana (1 ½ hours) and private transport to La Paz (3 ½ hours). At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Uyuni (ticket not included). Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Accommodation at the exclusive Hotel Palacio de Sal, the first in the world built entirely of salt. (Standard room)

DAY 5

At the appropriate time, we will begin the tour by visiting the town of Colchani, where we will visit an artisanal salt processing plant. We will continue our journey to the Salar, where we will visit the Eyes of Water and observe how salt is extracted. We will continue to Incahuasi Island, where we will see the famous Giant Cacti. Lunch will be served in the middle of the Great Salar. We will continue north, at the foot of the Thunupa Volcano, to visit Pucara Ayque, where we will see the pre-Columbian Fort and the local mummies. After enjoying the impressive sunset over the Salar, we will be transferred to the hotel.

DAY 6

At 10:00 am, we will leave Uyuni and visit the Train Cemetery, where we will see the remains of locomotives from the 19th and 20th centuries. Afterwards, we will head to the town of Mallku Cueva Villamar, where we will visit the Church of San Cristóbal and the towns of Culpina K and Alota, as well as the Valley of the Rocks, a famous group of rock formations created by wind erosion. We will continue with a visit to the Catal and Vinto Lagoons, and then the Lost Italy rock formation. At the appropriate time, we will arrive in the town of Villamar and visit the Cave Paintings and the Necropolis Fort.

Overnight stay at the Jardines de Mallku Cueva Hotel. (Standard room).

DAY 7

Departure to Laguna Colorada where you can enjoy the famous “JAMES FLAMENCOS”, as well as the perennial ice, and you can also enjoy the changing tones of the lagoon until it reaches its reddish color, from which it gets its name.

Geysers of Sol del Mañana, continuing to Lagoa Verde passing through the thermal waters of Chalviri and the Dalí Valley. Visit to Lagoa Verde on the banks of the Licancabur Volcano.

At a convenient time, transfer to Hito Cajón. (Transfer from Hito Cajón to San Pedro de Atacama not included).

  • What days of the year does this tour run?

    Departures 365 days a year, the itineraries change according to the water level in the Salar, there are 2 seasons:

  • How far in advance should I book this program?

    Due to high demand, we recommend you book at least 21 days in advance.

  • What types of Transportation does this program use?

    Air travel to UYUNI, during the expedition 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser or similar vehicles.

  • Is it necessary to be vaccinated to take the tour?

    Vaccines against COVID-19 and yellow fever may be required to enter the country.

  • How much luggage can I take?

    Each passenger can carry a maximum of one suitcase or backpack weighing 18 kg and one sleeping bag, which will be placed on top of the 4x4, and one carry-on backpack.

  • What types of plugs are available in the accommodations?

    We recommend that you bring an adapter to avoid any setbacks during your trip.

  • What is the weather like along the tour?

    In summer (December to March), the temperature ranges from approximately 4 °C minimum to 23 °C maximum. In winter (June to September), the temperature ranges from approximately -20 °C minimum to 16 °C maximum.

  • Should I carry extra batteries for my equipment?

    We recommend taking mainly cameras and cell phones.

  • Where can I exchange money into local currency?

    In the center of Uyuni and airports.

  • What is the probability of suffering from altitude sickness during the trip?

    Much of the tour takes place at an altitude of over 3,500 meters, so it is very likely that you will suffer from altitude sickness (Sorocchi), especially on the first day of the tour. We invite you to drink coca tea from the moment you enter Bolivia.

  • What happens to the tour in case of rain?

    In case of rain, the order of places to visit, the possibility of seeing the sunrise and accommodations will be subject to change, as some roads may be closed.

  • What menu is available?

    The food on the tour is varied, including tea, coffee, bread, biscuits and fruit for breakfast; meat, pasta, rice, soup and vegetables for lunch and dinner.

  • Do you have other expenses?

    We recommend that passengers bring at least Bs.300.00 (Rs. 240.00) per person for expenses related to entrance tickets not included in the tour, such as access to other services and water.

  • When is it possible to see the mirror effect in Salar de Uyuni?

    The mirror effect occurs when there is water in the salt. This occurs during rainy periods (January to March).

  • Is it possible to take the tour with a guide in another language?

    Yes, in Portuguese, French, German, Italian and English.

  • Is it necessary to have a tourist visa to enter Bolivia?

    It depends on the nationality of the passenger. Passengers from Brazil and the rest of South America, and passengers from Western Europe do not require a tourist visa, while passengers from the United States, Central America, Asia and Africa require a tourist visa.
